Boys in a Boy Room!!!

It's Tackle It Tuesday at 5 Minutes For Mom - so I'm definitely in the right place. I need to get this TACKLED!!!
The girls and little boys switched rooms about a year ago. Brenda and Emily new room got painted all white with bright - almost glow in the dark - pink accents. It looked very cute. The little boys - Stephen, Bobby and Terry - got the girls old light pink and purple room.

Those poor little boys have been living in the girlie room for over a year now. For Christmas, they got new Diego stuff - covers, table and chair, wall stickies, and paint. Their SLOW mama is finally getting the room painted for them. Troy and Brenda helped move out the furniture.

The boys are so excited. This will be the first time they've really had a room fixed up for just them, since they were in the Sesame Street nursery!!

Here you can see what color the room is gonna be. The walls are a light blue and all the trim is gonna be a dark blue. I worked on it the whole weekend Artie was out of town, but didn't get to work on it all last week or this weekend either. I finally decided yesterday that everything else was gonna have to wait for me to finish up there. I'll post more when I get finished.

Tackle It Tuesday

So, it's Tackle It Tuesday. Last time I sorta went along and tackled the same thing 5 Minutes For Mom did - Christmas Shopping - one of my favorite things in the world to do. :-)

Today, Mom's Tackle didn't really apply to me (she's working with birthday parties), so I will come up with my own.

I am missing some papers that Artie is wanting to see. He really wants me to write more and I wrote a few things for him over the summer. Now he wants to see them and I can't find them. It's not really I can't find them - I know exactly where they are - they are on my hope chest in a BIG pile of papers and books. So, I'm gonna go through all that mess and find them for him. (don't get excited, I'm not cleaning or filing anything in the pile - just looking through!!) :-)

How do you write if you're not a writer? How do you start? What do you say?

I'm great if someone has a question about my sphere - being a Christian, homeschooling, large families, mothering, children, husbands, ...but to just put my ideas on paper, kinda lost. Any advice?

Anyway, I'm off to find my stuff....

Edited - Okay I did throw away some stuff - but most importantly I found the papers Artie's wanting. They are all nice and crumpled and laying on his side of the bed. :-)

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Today's Challenge is Christmas Shopping!!!

One of my all time favorite challenges!!!!!

I'm off to see what all I can cross off my list. I don't have much left (for me - if you saw my list, you might think it was a lot still!!) I have stocking stuffers (for 7), some specific gift wrappings bags, a couple of swap presents for Artie's family's Christmas, and just a couple of things left for the children.

It should be a fun run....

Update ... I did so good. Found many things I was looking for and a couple that just seemed to jump up in my buggy (mostly stocking stuffers). It was a fun afternoon. Just a few more items and I'll be already!!!

Tackle It Tuesday - Decorating Time

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Susan and Janice at 5 Minutes for Mom host a Tackle It Tuesday challenge. Today they tackled Christmas Decorations.

We did too. Here are a couple of little pictures of our day.

We finally got the stocking hung... Yes, anyone new whose reading there are seven stockings for seven children!! :-)

For my friends, you will be happy to see Brian's stocking is hanging with the other children. He says he's planning on being here Christmas eve with us again this year as usual!! :-) God is so good.

We began our "real" Christmas study today (as apposed to our previous Christmas tree and candy cane study). We studied Angels - mainly Gabriel. We looked at how God sent him to proclaim to Mary of Jesus birth. We also looked ahead (which is a great thing to do during this time of Advent) as how the angels play a role in announcing the second coming of Christ. Here are our little angles hanging over our hallway door.

Our Christmas tree has been sitting in the living room for over a week now with no lights and no decorations. Artie is usually in charge of the lights, but has been so busy that he hasn't gotten them up yet. The girls and I decided to help him. Now, the tree is all lit and ready to be decorated this evening when he comes home. He will be relieved to have that crossed off his list and the girls loved it.

We also started One Wintery Night by Ruth Bell Graham today. We are reading one chapter a day - planning on finishing the day after Christmas. (The book goes from Jesus birth all the way to His death on the cross) They wanted to read more than the first chapter, but I think it is always good to leave them wanting more. They are looking forward to see what happens to Zeb tomorrow.
